A word from your guide

Hello! I’m Mine, a collector of stories and perspectives.

I love places with soul, the stories hidden behind facades, and the details that change the way we see the world.

As an author, publisher, and creator of cultural projects, I’ve long worked with words, images, and narratives to tell original stories about people, places, and the connections that bind us.

Based in L’Estaque, I wanted to explore this village near Marseille as if opening a book: by following in the footsteps of artists, the memories of residents, local folklore, and movie sets. Here, Cézanne crosses paths with Guédiguian, landscapes become paintings, and the narrow streets tell far more stories than one might imagine.

What do I love most of all? Sharing my discoveries, making unexpected connections, slipping in an anecdote as we turn a corner, and sparking that little sense of wonder that makes us see things differently.

I’m not promising a history lesson, but a lively, curious, and friendly stroll. Because a place becomes even more interesting when you take the time to listen to it… and share its stories together!

Description of your future experience

What if places had a memory, a character, a voice?

There are neighborhoods we simply pass through. And others that tell us a story.

In L’Estaque, the landscapes are never quite just landscapes. They become subjects for Cézanne, Braque, and Dufy to paint, fictional settings in Zola’s novels, and cinematic landscapes in Robert Guédiguian’s films.

But what do they really tell us? What does a painter see in a row of houses, a writer in an alleyway, a filmmaker in a working-class harbor?

I invite you on a guided walk through this village north of Marseille, where the artists’ works intersect with the lives of the residents, the working-class heritage, the neighborhood’s transformations, and the stories that have taken root there.

As we wander through the streets, squares, and vantage points, our perspective will shift. We’ll rediscover the landscapes that inspired the painters, the traces of a Provençal village that has become an artistic hub, the places that resonate with literature, and the familiar settings from Guédiguian’s films. The walk will be punctuated by excerpts from texts, images, and anecdotes drawn from their stories.

Little by little, a different perspective on L’Estaque emerges: that of a neighborhood that doesn’t merely host stories, but gives birth to them, transforms them, and connects them.

A walk for the curious, lovers of Marseille, and enthusiasts of art, literature, and cinema—and for anyone who enjoys discovering what a place has to tell us.

No need to be an expert: just open your eyes, let yourself be guided, and look at the city as if you were stepping into a story.

So set out to discover a vibrant, unique, down-to-earth, and inspiring Estaque.
