Alpilles Van Gogh & roman History

Passionate about my job as a tour guide, I love to show around our beautiful region, La Provence.

I have been guiding for many years all around the region Provence, Alpes, Cote D'Azur.

Knowledge, flexibility, humour and making sure people are happy are my forte.

Art, traditional cuisine, Roman history, and prophecies… all in a single day? Yes, it’s entirely possible with this tour!

Departing from Aix-en-Provence, we’ll visit the Roman city of Arles, dating back to the Roman Empire. You’ll explore the arena and the amphitheater, and immerse yourself in that era.

We’ll walk in the footsteps of Van Gogh, who spent some time in the region. We’ll visit Saint-Paul-de-Mausole, the psychiatric hospital where Van Gogh stayed for a few months and where he painted most of his works. The famous Café Van Gogh will also be on our itinerary.

Have you ever heard of Nostradamus? We’ll head to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, the birthplace of the famous “seer.”

If you’re lucky enough to be here on a Wednesday morning, we’ll stop at a wonderful market.

We’ll also visit Les Baux-de-Provence, a beautiful hilltop village dating back to the 11th century!

During our tour, we’ll:

- Visit the Roman city of Arles, dating back to the Roman Empire. You’ll get to explore the arena and the amphitheater

- Walk in the footsteps of Van Gogh, who spent some time there. Visit the famous Café Van Gogh.

- Explore Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, the birthplace of Nostradamus

- Enjoy a wonderful market (only on Wednesday mornings)

- Visit Saint-Paul-de-Mausole, the psychiatric hospital where Van Gogh spent several months and painted most of his works

- Explore Les Baux-de-Provence, a beautiful hilltop village dating back to the 11th century. (Option to visit the “Carrières de lumière” light cathedral)
