Hike with drinks at a panoramic summit overlooking the ruins of a medieval casteddu & sunset

Hello Meet People community, I'm Julie, passionate about nature, mountains, and Corsica, so come and discover these Corsican treasures during a walk, hike... From sunrise to sunset, or just a few hours strolling through the forest discovering plants and birds, listening to stories and legends from our shepherds and learning about local and rural heritage, identifying plants and learning what they were used for, taking part in a treasure hunt or a scavenger hunt, or even a hike in a joelette with a person with reduced mobility: an extraordinary human adventure! I also organize tailor-made treks lasting several days: discovering the GR20 but also, and above all, exceptional variations and off-trail routes. And I'm in Corsica all year round, so in winter it's snowshoeing, searching for avalanche victims with a device, and descending in a cuculuge. In short, there's something for all tastes and paces, so don't hesitate!

We will take the heritage trail that recounts the history of chestnuts with its exceptional olive oil and chestnut flour mill with a vertical water wheel, then we will leave the village under the chestnut trees to take a centuries-old path through a magnificent forest of green oaks covered with lichen to discoverancient charcoal kilns and the remains of small houses dating back to the Bronze Age. We will finally reach the summit after a 1.5-2 hour walk, with an extraordinary panoramic view of the entire micro-region stretching to the sea. Ideally, we will take this walk at the end of the day to enjoy the most beautiful colors as the sunset turns the Bavella peaks pink. We will share a spuntinu: a picnic made with local seasonal products, and we will descend via an easier path in the fading light or with headlamps to the village. There we will visit an exceptional mill that was used to make olive oil and chestnut flour: we will open the doors for you to discover ancestral millstones and a gear system powered by a vertical water wheel, then we will take a path that has just been reopened and does not appear on maps to discover charcoal kilns and small houses dating back to the Bronze Age.
