A word from your guide
Hello there! Have you ever wondered what the names of the plants are that you come across when you’re strolling through the city or along the trails? I do—all the time :) And I’ve discovered their magical powers… As someone who’s passionate about wild plants—whether they’re found in the city or out in the countryside—I’d love to help you discover them too!
If you want to get some fresh air and marvel at nature in Lyon (yes, I promise, it’s very much present here too), and leave with a smile and new knowledge to impress your friends over drinks, don’t hesitate to contact me!
As you can tell, I’m eco-friendly—I only dress in and decorate my home with vintage items—so if you want to check out the coolest thrift shops in town, I’d love to show you around. I can also guide you to alternative music venues and so much more :)
Description of your future experience
Evening Walk: Urban Wild Plants
A little relaxation & some plants
Goal: Discover the diversity of urban wild plants growing all around us!
Duration: 1.5–2 hours
What we’ll do:
- Learn (in a fun way) the basics of botany and plant identification techniques (using a magnifying glass)
- Identifying the wild plants we encounter along the way: names, properties, traditional, medicinal, or culinary uses...plants in culture(s)
Depending on the season and what we find, we’ll study about ten plants, some in more detail than others.
Just come dressed comfortably with good shoes, water, and a hat—and maybe a small notebook—and that’s all.
Once you register, you’ll receive a few additional instructions by email to help you prepare for plant identification.
After the walk, you’ll receive a personalized illustrated booklet with a summary of the plants we encountered and the key information to remember.
