Hello everyone, and welcome to La Rochelle.

My name is Alexandre. I’m very curious and enjoy trying my hand at all sorts of things. I have a black belt in judo and climb up to 6c+; my true passion is rock climbing.

Over the years, I’ve worked in various fields, including as a cook, sommelier, and even a stonemason.

But what defines me best is my passion for travel. I’ve been lucky enough to set foot on three continents and attend the Sziget Festival. My favorite trip was to Taiwan, and my second favorite was to Jordan. Each is a gem in its own way.

During these trips, I’ve always had the pleasure of meeting the right person at the right time—someone who reaches out to help me discover things with an authentic flavor. I think that’s what we’re all looking for when we travel. That sense of authenticity, that little something that makes us feel at home for a moment—and not just like a tourist.

As I like to say, what better way to discover a city than through the eyes of a local?

So as you follow me through the streets of my city, I hope to be that same helping hand for you.

Description of your future experience

I’ll take you on a roughly 2-hour tour around the old port of La Rochelle to explore 1,000 years of history and share with you all the little stories that have shaped this city’s past.

And we’ll wrap up with a tasting of local specialties at La Concurrence Beach, where we’ll enjoy a beautiful sunset.
