A word from your guide
Hi, I'm Ludo, and except for January in the mountains, you'll always find me by the ocean or in the woods! I love teaching and learning, especially when it comes to fall, woodworking, metalworking, and low-tech projects. I have a surf spot just a 10-minute bike ride from the workshop—you can check out the crêperie right next door if you head to the water after we meet.
Description of your future experience
Part of staying safe in the mountains is keeping your gear sharp. It’s convenient to hand your gear over to the pros, but there are at least two downsides: it’s expensive, and it ties up your gear when you’d rather be out in the mountains. In 2 hours, I’ll teach you how to properly sharpen your ice axes and crampons, and in an additional 1.5 hours, how to sharpen your ice screws (which is a bit more technical). I’ll also share gear recommendations and tips and tricks for recovering your gear after run-ins with rocks. Note that I’m recommended by Petzl for sharpening this equipment.
