A refreshing blend of heritage and nature in the Vizzavona forest

Hello Meet People community, I'm Julie, passionate about nature, mountains, and Corsica, so come and discover these Corsican treasures during a walk, hike... From sunrise to sunset, or just a few hours strolling through the forest discovering plants and birds, listening to stories and legends from our shepherds and learning about local and rural heritage, identifying plants and learning what they were used for, taking part in a treasure hunt or a scavenger hunt, or even a hike in a joelette with a person with reduced mobility: an extraordinary human adventure! I also organize tailor-made treks lasting several days: discovering the GR20 but also, and above all, exceptional variations and off-trail routes. And I'm in Corsica all year round, so in winter it's snowshoeing, searching for avalanche victims with a device, and descending in a cuculuge. In short, there's something for all tastes and paces, so don't hesitate!

Meet just below the Col de Vizzavona at 1161m. The half-day trip starts next to the hotel, 500m from the Col (5 minutes by car from the train station, where we can pick you up if you arrive by train). For the full-day trip, we can leave directly from the train station at an altitude of 910m: Climb up a pretty little ridge to the Vizzavona fort, then into a small valley or across fields to one or two small optional peaks on the granite moraine (1,457 m or even 1,632 m) with beautiful views of the waterfall and the Gravona valley before diving down to hidden sheepfolds (1360m) and the crystal-clear pools of the Anglais waterfall, ending with the famous GR20 north: +/-250 to 350m 4.5 to 6km 3 to 4 hours for a half-day 5 to 6 hours for a full day
